I taught my kids something from my childhood today. I don't know why because I'm already sick of it. My Dad's friend would always wink one eye and stick out his tongue while biting down. Sounds weird? It is. But the kids thought it was funny. They can't wait to share their new talent with Grandpa Jim.

Day 4
Peyton does not like to wear shirts when he is in PJ's. It doesn't matter how cold it is. We often have to tell him to go get one on and then there is always whining and complaining all the up the stairs on his way to get one.
When Braxton was a baby he had to sleep with a "silky" (AKA-trico fabric that garments are made out of). He wasn't fooled by the store bought stuff either. He had to have a piece of actual garments. He would not go to sleep without it. A couple of years ago we were able to finally transition him to the store bought trico. He found this piece in my Mom's sewing room one day. He now sleeps with that. A few weeks ago he decided he was too old for it and gave it to Peyton. That lasted until about bedtime. Then it was his again.

Day 3
This may not be an exciting picture but as I as doing laundry I realized how easy I have it. This was our first big purchase when we got married. We moved from California to this little tiny apartment. We went for something a lot cheaper in living conditions and with the money we saved we bought these. I don't know if it was worth it or not. We ended up getting our car broken into many times, had very questionable neighbors, and we were the only white people on the street for the most part. It was like a Cinco De Mayo party every night in the summer. It was so loud.

Day 2
We went to Xtreme Air Sports in Provo for Peyton's birthday. His birthday was in December but we left to California earlier than we had planned so we never got to go on his birthday. So we went today.
I have two very different kids. One is such a dare devil (Peyton), and the other is very reserved. Peyton was doing flips, going off of high swings that he wasn't supposed to be going off of. He was too short for one and it was supposed to be for 6 and older. But that didn't stop him. Braxton didn't want to try anything that looked scary and stayed in the safe zone. He still had a lot of fun. I am glad they are so different. It makes life fun!

A year of pictures
I wanted to do the year worth of pictures. The easiest way for me to remember why I took what picture is my blog. Then I can later make a book and print it. So here goes day one.
I slip into the kids room at night to see how cute they are. Sometimes they still look like little babies. The both still have the same profile they did when they were newborns. It makes me sad sometimes that they are so big. I wish I would have taken more time to treasure the little things when they were little. I know they aren't big yet but it really does go by way too fast. There are days that I think how easy it would be if they were grown, but then I realize their problems will be big too. I can still fix most of their problems with a kiss and a hug right now.
When I went into the bedroom, Peyton was asleep. Braxton was not. He was very tired but looking for a way to get out of bed. He told me of bad dreams he was having and every reason why he should be able to get out of bed. Then when he saw me taking a picture of Peyton he did not want to be left out. So he quickly fell "asleep" so he was not left out. One thing I love about Peyton's picture is how much it shows his personality. He loves his bed. Not to sleep in but to play in. He put these stickers all over the wall himself, he loves tons and tons of blankets and pillows. He must have found one of the pillows in a closet somewhere because I never let him go to bed without a pillowcase. His bed is his "secret hideout". I will have to get another picture sometime this year to really show how crazy he gets with it all.
